Math 24

This is a fifth grade club. The purpose of the club is to play the Math 24® game and develop number sense. The Math 24®game consists of 48 cards. Each card has four numbers on it.  The purpose is to get the answer of 24.  The student must use all four numbers and may use any or all the four orders of operation. There are two versions of the game at the elementary level; single-digit and double-digit. An example would be a card that has the numbers 2, 6, 3, and 4.  A solution would be 2 x 6 plus 3 x 4= 24.  The students in the club work in cooperative groups once a week for an hour after school. There is a CVE Math 24® competition to pick two winners to go to the BCPS Math 24® Competition.
