The CVE TV Studio Crew consists of 4th and 5th grade students (3rd graders begin training in spring for the following year) who produce professional news broadcasts for our daily morning announcements. They must complete an extensive application process in order to obtain this specialized position. They are responsible for writing scripts (for anchors and weather, menu, and birthday reporters), organizing and rehearsing visiting reporters from every grade level, directing the broadcast, creating supporting slides, operating Tricaster equipment, operating sound equipment, choosing and inserting supporting music, operating cameras, maintaining the neatness of the studio, and training the incoming members. These students have consistently exhibited responsible and dependable qualities in their history and in this current duty. The crew also assists by making videos, helping the library media specialist teach a graduate class in video production, and direct parents on SEM Night who want to experience the studio. The crew directs and guides the younger students during their first studio experience.
